Boots, Blunts & Backroads, country songs about weed? That's a thing.

As a former performer and lifelong music lover, I’ve always been someone who REALLY listens to music. I’m talking headphones on, world tuned out, completely lost in the sound. I love picking apart every layer of a song, from the melodies and bass lines to the little instrumental details you might miss if you’re just listening in the background. Even before cannabis entered the picture, music was something I loved to immerse myself in.
Then I discovered cannabis, and suddenly, it felt like I was hearing music in an entirely new way. The layers seemed deeper, the bass felt richer, and the little details I already loved picking out became even more fascinating. Songs I’d listened to a hundred times could feel brand new, like I was discovering hidden pieces of a familiar puzzle.
It wasn’t just about hearing the music anymore. It was about feeling it, getting lost in the rhythm, following every note, and letting the sound take me somewhere else entirely.
Then I started picking songs apart even further, digging into different genres, and expanding my musical horizons. Somewhere along the way, I rediscovered country music.
Now, before you scoff, and fuck off from this blog because you think country music isn't your thing, HEAR ME OUT.
Country music isn't just heartbreak, cowboy hats, cheating, whiskey bottles, and men singing about the women who done them wrong. (Although, let's be honest, those are some pretty solid ingredients for a banger.) There's a whole lot more going on beneath the twang, the steel guitars, and the boot-stomping beats.
So put on your headphones, ditch your preconceived notions, and come take a musical trip with me. We're digging into the country songs that prove there's a whole lot more than whiskey and heartbreak hiding in that honky-tonk.
