Potential health benefits.


  • A 2015 study found that in small doses terpinolene has potent antioxidant effects. 

  • A 2013 study on mice concluded that terpinolene has sedative effects when inhaled. This has yet to be studied on humans, so it’s unclear if the same effects would be experienced. 

  • A study conducted in Turkey in 2013 found promising results of terpinolene treating brain cell cancer. Though there is more research needed, there is still a large possibility of it being able to help.

  • Terpinolene has antibacterial properties when found in the essential oil of tea trees.
